‘Learning through fun’ is becoming a popular concept and so we find a lot of educative toys in the market. Understanding this trend, Santhosh Subramanian, an engineer who worked for a multinational company decided to start ‘Bambaram’ an innovative venture. In a chat with him where he shared his views with Chennai Chimes he stated that he felt that children should enjoy the benefits of all the toys that are available and he felt the only way was to have a toys library. Bambaram is an online toys lending library and has been in operation since June 2010. Santhosh explained that Parul Sarin who worked for a few years in corporates also joined hands with him and they have slowly been reaching out to parents 
Entrepreneurs find expression in the work they do, follow their heart to make their lives meaningful and are willing to take a plunge into an unknown zone. The urge to succeed is a common attribute and the enterprising young woman Preethi Mahendar falls into this category of women. Preethi finished her graduation and took up a course in fashion in Bangalore. She had already decided to start her own business and not seek employment as she grew up being inspired by her mother who runs her own business. In the year 2010, Preethi launched ‘Anahita’ and in her own words describes it as
Animation has brought in a very new dimension to the entertainment industry but it all began with hand drawn cartoons. There are a few people who have chosen to draw cartoons for a career and they can make their drawing convey the message completely and it also stays in our minds. One such cartoonist who has served ‘The Hindu’ newspaper for the last 25 years is Keshav Venkatraghavan and it was interesting to chat with him as he narrated his story for Chennai Chimes. Keshav was born in Bangalore and did his schooling in Hyderabad and then came to Chennai as his father was transferred to this city. 
Education can cause the required change and progress in the society and teachers play a solid role in creating the destiny of the nation by moulding the children into responsible people. A man who donned the role of a teacher from his young days, Phalgunan has done so much in his capacity to reach out to the society. Phalgunan came to Chennai in the year 1976 and joined a school in Chennai as a teacher. Even while he was a teacher he thought a lot about how the society needed changes and how it could be brought about by ensuring that education reached the 
‘Every individual has some interest and if that can be cultivated then we can keep ourselves engaged in our post retirement years of life’ said Jotheeswari Parameswaran as we sat down for a chat at her home in Chennai. She continued that her interest is handwork and that got developed very early in life from seeing her mother do crochet. (Crochet is a process of creating fabric from yarn, thread, or other material strands using a special kind of hook.) Jothi is 66 years and I could see her joy as she narrated ‘My parents lived in Burma before I was born and it was there that my mother learnt to do different kinds of handwork. She used to tell me stories of how in Burma 
‘Make the choice to use natural products or very soon we will be left choiceless’ says Preethi Sukmaran, Co-Founder Krya products. ‘Krya’ is the brain child of the couple Preethi and Srinivas and in their words ‘they intend to manufacture and market sustainable goodies so that we can make a positive contribution to the environment with small mindful actions’. Krya launched its first product in September 2011, a detergent to wash clothes made from soap berries and manufacture it in the most natural way possible to have least or no impact on the environment.
