What's in Spiritual messages?

A soldier named Nobushige came to Hakuin, a Zen master and asked: "Is there really a paradise and a hell?"

"Who are you?" inquired Hakuin.

"I am a samurai", the warrior replied.

"You, a soldier!" sneered Hakuin, "What kind of ruler would have you as his guard? You look like a beggar".

Nobushige became so angry that he began to draw his sword.

Hakuin continued: "So you have a sword! Your weapon is probably too dull to cut off my head."

Nobushige drew his sword.

Hakuin remarked: "Here open the gates of hell!"

At these words the samurai, perceiving the master's discipline, put away his sword and bowed.

"Here open the gates of paradise", said Hakuin.

The above is just one of the many spiritual messages that man has received from his learned lot and it reflects to one that anger and its provocation is one definite path towards a life like hell, whereas self-awareness is the gateway towards happy living as understood to be in heaven. It also denotes that hell and heaven all depends on how we live our lives in this moment. The existence of hell or heaven is in being aware of ourselves and its bounties of positive thoughts, actions and deeds or it is in the moment of weakness and its effects of negativity.

There was a recent publication from the Yale University on a new study by researchers from Yale, Harvard, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology stating that meditation is associated with increased cortical thickness of the human brain. This increased thickness of the cortical plays a significantly positive impact on the sensory, auditory, visual and internal perception, such as heart rate or breathing. The researchers also found that regular meditation practice may slow age-related thinning of the frontal cortex of the human brain.

The above clearly indicates the positive impact of meditation on how our brain, the central aspect of a human body, can be strengthened for our own better living. It indicates that meditation that is recommended by many religions is actually a means to help you live your life better, younger and longer!

Likewise every spiritual message, in which ever chosen path, directs man on how effectively aligned he can be towards the abundance of life and living one’s life to its hilt. Every message in the books of each religion will have an underlying purpose and that being on how to live one’s life better, brighter and to the maximum.  One does not know for sure if life will be benevolent to offer us another chance to live again as a human being, but surely we know that it has chosen to give it to us now. How effectively we live it will depend upon how aligned we are to the effective messages of spiritual living. Because spiritual alignment is not about acting now to live life after death in another world, but in living this one life that we have now to its fullest.
